First International Week for Coptic Orthodox Youth
August 25-Sept. 1, 2018
HH Pope Tawadros III is graciously inviting 200 of the second and third generation Coptic Youth from the lands of immigration to spend one week in Egypt. The Diocese of Los Angeles will send 6 youth (3 young men and 3 young women). During this week, participants will:
+ experience the deep spiritual life of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt
+ meet and exchange vision of church and youth with youth from America, Canada, Australia, England, Europe, Asia and Africa.
+ communicate and network among Coptic youth through the world.
+ interview Coptic and Egyptian figures in diverse fields
+ formulate an integrated image of Egypt and the Coptic Orthodox Church
+ cultivate a memorial tree for the Diocese in Logos Center.
Fees and Registration
All participants will be responsible for all travel and costs associated with the trip, including $200 registration fee for accommodation, meals, and transportation in Egypt. Registration fees are due March 1, 2018 (after acceptance).
Youth must meet the following criteria to participate:
+ 22-28 years old
+ Second- or Third-generation youth from the Lands of Immigration
+ are in good health, and able to adjust to Egyptian climate
+ good comprehension of Arabic language, and fluent in English
+ be an active participant in Church services
+ have a recommendation letter from their father of confession, and acceptance from the bishop
+ be willing to actively participate in all program activities.
+ have valid ID and Passport
